UAE: How to reserve park, garden area for events in Abu Dhabi for free

The parks and gardens in the UAE are among the public facilities that are available all year round. It is common for residents to go to these places as the weather gets cooler and have a barbeque or meet their family and friends.

There are rules that the public is supposed to follow so that nobody area gets overcrowded and to make sure that people in these areas are properly spaced apart, the emirate has put in place an overall policy where residents can apply for rest that allows them to celebrate in these public rest areas.  

There are certain guidelines that have to be borne in mind. The parks in Al Ain have specific visitation hours which are from five in the evening up to nine at night.

Steps to get the permit

• The interested parties are required to initially login on the system through UAE PASS. 

• The application can then be submitted by the residents with the relevant supporting documents. 

• They will however receive the confirmation of booking. 

• In making a booking, the applicants will have to first choose among the dissimilar types of entities comprising individuals, schools, private and government establishments. 

• They then have to indicate the location where they would wish to hold the occasion. This indicates choices among three municipalities which are Abu Dhabi City Municipality, Al Ain City Municipality and Al Dhafra Region Municipality.

• The portal then proceeds to suggest parks and gardens within the country that applicants may wish to consider in a specific municipality. 

• They will then be required to indicate the specific date and time when the event will take place. 

• Once a booking has been done, applicants are taken to a different page where they shall be expected to provide the allegations and supporting documents. Finally, the applicants will be required to validate their submission. 

• The entire process takes a period of not more than six minutes through the website and application.

Rules and regulations to remember

• The following rules and regulations are put in place so as to allow the applicants to also maintain the park’s facilities and hygiene of other visitors.

• Prior to use for commercial purposes or for community, facilities seek an approval first, or are not allowed.

• Whoever causes damage to the venue, penalties will also be imposed on the applicants.

• Applicants are required not to use the permit for purposes of either propaganda or advertisement.

• Only sites that have been mentioned in the application should be the only ones that the applicants are allowed to use.

• Everyone visiting the site has an obligation to comply with the deadlines set by the competent authority.

• These will also be required with the traditions and customs and discipline of the venue.

• The maximum duration of reservation time allowed in any park is 2 hours.

• Only individuals with valid pre-booking applications are allowed in the park.
