UAE citizens in Japan can extend visa-free stay to 90 days from July 1

The UAE embassy in Japan shared that citizens of the UAE holding ordinary passports will now be able to enjoy a stay of up to 90 days in Japan without a visa— a much more generous offer than the previous 30 days. This new policy is set to commence on July 1, 2025.
In order to apply for the visa waiver exemption, the following conditions must be met:
-
Holders of the UAE ordinary passport are required to have a valid ICAO compliant IC Passport
-
The reason for the trip must be access as short-term stay (for leisure, business engagements, or visit to relatives and friends)
Since November 2022, UAE nationals have had the luxury of entering Japan visa free and without prior application processes.
The UAE also in 2024 planned to roll out the same unfettered access plan for Japanese citizens, who hold valid passports and wish to travel to the UAE for short period not exceeding 90 days.
