New Galaxy Note pre-orders up 27%

Samsung also introduced 5G versions of the Note10 devices.

Samsung Gulf Electronics on Tuesday formally launched its new Galaxy Note10 devices in the UAE, aiming to corner more of the premium device market with more powerful offerings in more than one package.

The world's largest mobile phone manufacturer, for the first time, released two versions of its pen computing-focused device, with the aim of appealing to users of both large and smaller screen formats without compromising on productivity, a signature aspect of the series.

"We can promise users a new experience that goes way beyond what they had with the previous Note," Tarek Sabbagh, head of the IT and mobile division at Samsung Electronics Gulf, told Khaleej Times before the event in Dubai.

"The Note has advanced from being a simple tool to something very advanced to help you do and create many things."

Pre-orders have been impressive; Sabbagh revealed that as at Tuesday morning, pre-orders for the Note10 are 27 percent higher compared to last year's Note9 - and 81 percent of this is for the bigger Note10+.

Samsung also introduced 5G versions of the Note10 devices. Sabbagh says an announcement will be made in due time.

"We are closely working with local operators and our partners. We will be making a formal announcement once everybody is ready for it," he added.

The 6.4-inch Galaxy Note10 and 6.8-inch Galaxy Note10+ we introduced on August 7 in Brooklyn, with pre-orders starting immediately after the event.

What sets apart the Note10+ is its quadruple-lens camera setup, the first Samsung flagship to be equipped with such as system, boasting a so-called DepthVision camera.

Both sport all-around improvements, including the latest Qualcomm processor, double the base storage and a sharper Infinity O display, which is practically bezel-less.

In the UAE, three versions are available: The 8GB/256GB Note10, and the 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB Note10+. They are priced at Dh3,499, Dh3,999 and Dh4,499, respectively.
