Meet EVA, India first solar-powered car and it costs only Dh14,000
Dubai: The Pune-based Vayve Mobility launched India's first solar-powered electric vehicle called Eva at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 which took place recently in New Delhi.
The Eva solar-powered EV starts at ₹3.25 lakh (Dh14,000) and features a sunroof which generates about 1 kWh of energy every day under Indian conditions. Customers may currently reserve their solar-powered EV through a ₹5,000 deposit while delivery of this vehicle starts in 2026.
The company Vayve Mobility aims to expand car ownership opportunities across India by concentrating on urban transportation solutions. Eva features a narrow body that allows it to move through city traffic easily while accommodating two adults and a child.
Eva is available in three variants: Nova, Stella, and Vega. Each variant provides battery options from 9 kWh to 18 kWh which enable a driving range of 125 to 250 kilometres per full charge. Every model variant includes air conditioning and comes with a 3-year or 80,000 km vehicle warranty along with a 5-year battery warranty.
Users can charge the Nova variant from 10% to 70% battery capacity quickly with a DC charger. The company states that vehicles can achieve up to 250 kilometres range during regular AC use but improve by 10-12 kilometres when solar panels operate under ideal conditions. According to the company drivers could cover up to 3,000 kilometers annually using solar power.
Vayve Mobility released the CT5 electric taxi for five passengers in addition to launching the Eva.
The Eva combines over-the-air (OTA) updates with a vehicle diagnostics system and smartphone connectivity on its monocoque chassis structure to create a practical and advanced transportation solution for city commuters.
