Leaving UAE Mobile Plan Cancellation Guide
Leaving UAE Mobile Plan Cancellation Guide

When leaving the UAE, canceling your mobile plans is an essential step. Whether you are subscribed to Etisalat, Du, or Virgin Mobile, a process is in place for the disconnection or termination of your contract. Here's a step-by-step guide for each service provider:

Etisalat:

  1. Ensure all outstanding fees are paid before canceling your monthly subscription.
  2. If canceling earlier than the contract stipulates, be prepared to pay extra charges.
  3. After settling dues, call 101 or visit any Etisalat store to submit a cancellation request.
  4. If you want to keep your number active after leaving the UAE, consider subscribing to 'homebound' packs, retaining access to Etisalat services for up to 60 days.
  5. For prepaid users, call 101 or visit any Etisalat store to submit a cancellation request. Ensure that no lend-me/reserve credit service is enabled, and note that your credit balance, if any, will be forfeited upon cancellation.

Du:

  1. Visit any Du store to request cancellation.
  2. An agent will calculate charges based on the total outstanding balance, early cancellation fees (if applicable), and the full monthly charge for the current month.
  3. You will receive a call from Du within 24 hours to process the cancellation.
  4. For prepaid users, request cancellation through the Du app or by visiting Du's official website.

Virgin Mobile:

  1. Cancel your subscription through the Virgin Mobile app.
  2. If you are on 6 or 12-month plans and wish to cancel before the last month of the subscription, contact the provider.
  3. The account will remain active until the cancellation takes effect on the renewal date.
  4. To terminate your account via the app: For iOS devices, tap on ‘More’ at the bottom of the screen, and for Android devices, open your side menu. Find your name and tap on it to go to the ‘My Account’ screen. Tap on ‘Terminate my account’ and follow the instructions.
  5. If you decide to reactivate your account, sign up again within 12 months of the previous termination using your original email address.

Remember to follow these steps to ensure a smooth disconnection process and avoid any unexpected charges or issues with your mobile service providers. Leaving the UAE involves various tasks, and canceling your mobile plans should be on your relocation checklist.
