Scheduled for May 11th at the Emirates International School auditorium in Dubai, the event promises to immerse attendees in the poetic words, music, and philosophy of the legendary polymath. Led by Indian classical music maestro Shubha Mudgal and featuring a talented ensemble of 30 artists, along with a live orchestra blending traditional Indian and Western music, the evening will showcase Tagore's profound influence on art and culture. In its second edition, 'Romancing Tagore' aims to explore the diverse nuances of Tagore's compositions, offering a unique blend of Hindustani classical music and Tagore's iconic songs. Shubha Mudgal expressed her excitement about performing in Dubai and promised to deliver a mesmerizing performance that reflects Tagore's philosophy. Jogiraj Sikidar, the Founder and Director of Malhaar Centre for Performing Arts, highlighted the emotional connection to Tagore's legacy and the significance of blending classical forms with Tagore's timeless melodies. Last year's musical, 'Tagore meets Tagore', featuring veteran actress Sharmila Tagore, left a lasting impression on audiences, showcasing the depth and beauty of Tagore's creations. 'Romancing Tagore' will pay homage to Tagore's multifaceted philosophy, delving into themes of love, humanity, spirituality, and nationalism.
