A Filipino expat living in Dubai named Carlo Garrido has started a special program to support artists who have autism. Through his most recent show, Spectro Lucid Art, which was on display at World Art Dubai, Carlo honors the ability and inventiveness of people who are autistic. His transition from businessman to curator of art reveals a strong affinity for the arts and a dedication to raising autism awareness.

Although Carlo has always had a strong interest in art, his career as a curator began in 2005 when he relocated to Dubai. Carlo was given an autism diagnosis last year, but he sees his condition as a strength rather than a handicap. He embraces his distinct viewpoint and incorporates his sensitivity to color and attention to detail into his artwork.

Four Filipino artists who are autistic are brought together by Spectro Lucid Art, which gives them a stage on which to perform. Through their meticulously detailed and imaginatively themed artworks, Carlo hopes to dispel preconceptions and emphasize the diversity among the autism community.

Carlo believes that the exhibition aims to promote acceptance and tolerance rather than merely displaying art. He thinks that individuals with autism are equally as gifted as everyone else and are successful in a variety of industries, such as the arts, commerce, sports, and music. Carlo aspires to alter attitudes and establish fair chances for people with autism via his campaigning.

Carlo finds that working with other artists that identify as spectrum has been a rewarding experience that strengthens the message of acceptance and self-determination. Beyond making purchases, the exhibition's success lies on evoking strong feelings, starting discussions, and dispelling stereotypes.

Carlo is committed to his goal even though raising awareness of autism presents difficulties. He thinks that as autism is more understood, more chances and equitable treatment will be extended to those who have the condition. Carlo is determined to carry on with his activism in the future since he has seen personally the beneficial effects it can have on people's lives.

Carlo Garrido's endeavor is essentially a prime example of the transforming power of campaigning and art. He encourages people to appreciate their own abilities and make a positive contribution to a more inclusive society by showcasing the artistic ability of artists with autism through Spectro Lucid Art.
