Galaxy S25 Ultra, One UI 7 and more: What to expect from Samsung latest showcase
Samsung's first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2025, taking place today, is just literally hours away. The event will be held in San Jose, California on Wednesday, January 22 and will include details of Samsung's latest Galaxy products, including, hopefully, the new Galaxy S25 series. In addition to hardware, Samsung is expected to broaden its ecosystem around AI capabilities, as suggested in the promo material for the event.

1. Galaxy S25 Series

Galaxy S25 Series: Samsung's new flagship series of smartphones is going to be in the spotlight. The Galaxy S25 series will consist of three models — Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra — and they all should have powerful upgrades.

Galaxy S25: The regular variant will boast of the brand new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, Qi2 wireless charging support, and improved AI capabilities. It will also have a new design, taking inspiration from the Galaxy S24's sleek looks. Pre-orders should go live just after the event with a rumoured February 7 launch.

Galaxy S25 Plus: The AMOLED galaxy S25 plus will receive all the features of its shrimp with a mode of flashing, a more plasma battery, a LCD board, and a brisk brisk charging. The S25 Plus might be the sweet spot for power users after more screen than either of these phones can offer, but not quite wanting the Ultra.

Galaxy S25 Ultra: Samsung will stuff everything that the S25 series has into one device with the S25 Ultra, but the camera phone will also get a new high-res ultrawide camera. Add premium materials and high-end specifications, this could represent the 2025 state of the art in non-foldable smartphones.
2. One UI 7
The Galaxy S25 series will ship with One UI 7 — Samsung's new software based on Android 15. It adds in a new "Now Bar" that will make it much more intuitive to receive notifications and handle tasks. In combination with all-new Galaxy AI tools, One UI 7 will help these devices become even smarter, providing a more effortless and personalized user experience.
3. Galaxy AR: Project Moohan
Samsung has its Project Moohan AR headset that could actually land not just for smartphones, too. Now teased for at least the second time in 2024, the augmented reality headset is the result of a collaboration with Google and Qualcomm. Appropriately enough, Galaxy Unpacked is set to hear more about this major step into the AR space, which is rumored to release sometime in 2025.
