Dubai Police launch tactical robot for high-risk field operations

Dubai Police launched a new tactical robot that enhances field operations, as it can move through narrow and dangerous areas. This sophisticated robot addition seeks to improve operational readiness with intelligent technologies along with advanced tactical systems.
The Caliber® Mini-FLEX is agile and has a camera system in the front, back, and zooming for high-res footage. Moreover, it has an arm with a camera that can rotate to see through infrared and white LEDs, lighting infrared during the day and white during the night. The robot is capable of lifting 11 kg while weighing 36.7 kg and can also stride its legs to climb stairs of 45 degrees.
Flex robots can be controlled from a touchscreen console or gamepad and work together thanks to IP Mesh technology. Each comes with a non-recoil water disruptor, weapon-mounted camera, firing circuit, collision alert system, and real-time video and audio streaming on a 3D interface, displaying its status, geolocation, and active tools.
At the launch event, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi voiced the strategic necessity concerning the deployment of the robot while emphasizing the importance of the robot from the Dubai Police.
"As Major General Al Ghaithi stated, the Robot reflects the Dubai Police’s effort in strengthening the technical frameworks, broadband systems, and field equipment available for the users to make provisions for precise actions in complicated circumstances.”
“Collaboration with internationally distinguished organisations such as ICOR demonstrates the adoption of international standards of Dubai strategic goals in comprehensive security systems integrated within the whole of Dubai,” he concluded.”
