The Emirate of Dubai and the Government of Dubai will implement a new legal framework for regulating their emblem and logo usage. Anyone who breaks this law could face up to 5 years in prison or a fine between Dh100,000 to Dh500,000 and both penalties at the same time.

The Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum established a law that forbids the use of the logos for commercial activities such as advertising and product promotion.

The law forbids any actions that damage the logo or modify its use in ways that impact its value or reputation. The emblem must not be displayed during events or activities that conflict with Dubai Emirate's values and principles or violate public order and morals.

Entities obtain special permission to use the Dubai Emirate logo on places, events and documents while seals of government entities display it.

The legislation requires that the logo usage follows the guidelines established by the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai.

The law requires individuals who become aware of someone committing prohibited acts to report these actions to the appropriate authority who will pursue legal proceedings against offenders.
