Dubai: Emirates airline denies sacking employees for posting viral behind-the-scenes video

No, Emirates airline had not dismissed anyone for making a behind-the-scenes video and breaching the company policy. A YouTube video has gone viral featuring the cabin crew members of the airline displaying 'secret' behind-the-scenes operations.
Published last year under the title 'Behind The Scenes as Emirates Cabin Crew — Things you DON’T see as a passenger', the half-hour clip featured snapshots of everyday cabin crew life, and duty performance.
The video — during an airborne journey to Shanghai — has achieved in excess of 1.3 million hits.
Emirates is familiar with the video in question and investigated at the time. An Emirates spokesperson said on Wednesday: "Absolutely no crew were terminated in relation to this".
Dubai's flagship carrier has not dismissed leases over the behind-the-scene videos, which featured staff members arranging meals and carrying out duties that passengers are generally unaware of, as erroneously reported in some social media posts.
Other behind-the-scenes viral videos of other airlines’ cabin crew, also on the YouTube platform, have grossed more than a million views.
According to Emirates' annual report for 2023-24 published last year, the total workforce of Emirates Group grew by 10 per cent year-on-year to its largest ever size of 112,406 employees during the past financial year as Emirates continued recruitment activity around the globe to meet its expanding operational needs and enhance its capabilities for the future
