Elias bin Haider's story embodies the evolution of Jumeirah, from sand to bustling streets. Since the 1970s, his bakery has been a cornerstone of the community, offering handcrafted Regag bread with a touch of nostalgia. Despite the changing landscape, Haider's dedication remains unwavering, drawing customers from all walks of life to experience the simple pleasure of his timeless creations.

Elias bin Haider's journey as a bread maker began in the mid-1970s when Jumeirah was still a vast expanse of sand. At just 18 years old, he embarked on a path that would define his life, starting as a humble baker with a passion for creating the perfect loaf.

"When we opened this shop, this street was still sand," Haider reminisces, reflecting on the early days of his bakery. "All these houses and buildings did not exist. I have seen all these with my own eyes. I have witnessed Jumeirah's city being built before my eyes.”

Over the years, Haider's bakery became more than just a place to buy bread—it became a cornerstone of the community. Local residents knew him by name, and his simple yet delicious Regag bread became a staple in their daily lives.

As Jumeirah evolved into a bustling tourist destination, Haider feared losing his loyal customer base. However, to his delight, people from all over continued to seek out his bakery, drawn by the authentic flavors and warm hospitality that defined his establishment.

To adapt to changing tastes and preferences, Haider expanded his menu, offering variations of his signature bread with cheese, chips, eggs, and honey. Yet, despite these innovations, he remains true to the traditional methods and recipes that have made his bakery a beloved institution.

Haider's dedication to his craft is evident in his daily routine, which begins at 7 am and ends late into the evening. From crafting the dough to serving customers, he pours his heart and soul into every loaf, ensuring that each one is served hot and fresh.

Throughout the years, Haider's bakery has attracted customers from all corners of the Emirates and beyond. Visitors from neighboring countries flock to taste his renowned Regag bread, especially during Ramadan, when demand reaches its peak.

Despite the passage of time and the changing landscape of Jumeirah, Elias bin Haider's commitment to his craft remains unwavering. His bakery stands as a testament to tradition, offering a taste of nostalgia in a rapidly modernizing world.
