Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is turning Hatta into a must-visit tourist destination with its AED 46 million Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project. DEWA's Vision for Hatta

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the MD & CEO of DEWA, envisions Hatta as more than just a picturesque location. He intends to transform it into a tourism and investment hub. The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is a vital step towards realizing this goal. It will not only create a sustainable natural environment but also develop the area into recreational spaces and a UAE tourist attraction.

Promoting Local Economy and Heritage

DEWA's commitment extends to local citizens as well. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has granted shops within the project to the citizens of Hatta, providing additional job opportunities and supporting social, economic, and environmental development. These shops will sell natural honey, local products, and souvenirs, adding to the charm of the region.

Sustainability and Innovation

DEWA is determined to implement the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project with utmost consideration for the environment. Advanced and safe technologies that match the geological conditions of Hatta will be employed. The project will adhere to the highest international environmental standards to preserve the Hatta Mountain Reserve. Sustainable materials that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings will be used, and the project will culminate in a lake that fosters a diverse biological ecosystem.

Inspired by Nature

The project's architectural concept draws inspiration from the hexagonal beehive design, a nod to Hatta's reputation as a global honey hub. The interconnected oases will be linked by bridges over the water canal, creating a vibrant and picturesque environment perfect for leisure and photography.

Innovative Water Management

One of the project's highlights is its innovative water management. The upper dam of the Hatta plant's slope will be utilized to create a natural waterfall. A waterway beneath the dam will be constructed, recycling and pumping the water back to the top of the dam. This approach ensures sustainability and reduces the environmental footprint of the project.

A Bright Future for Hatta

The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project is more than just a tourist attraction; it's a testament to Dubai's commitment to sustainable development, job creation, and environmental preservation. With its unique architectural design, natural beauty, and focus on local heritage, it promises to make Hatta an even more appealing destination for visitors and investors alike.
