Commuters face delays as major accident blocks E311
Dubai: Heavy congestion was reported on Sharjah-Dubai routes in the morning peak hours on Friday as traffic built up across several key highways and inner-city roads, Google Maps data showed.
There has been a serious accident on E311 near Expo City towards Dubai South, resulting in heavy jams. Witnesses tell us there are multiple cars, a truck on its side and three vehicles that are badly damaged. “It is heavily congested on the E311 near Expo City towards Dubai South. “I saw five, six cars were involved and a truck even was on its side — three cars sheared off,” one passenger said.
The crash has compounded already sluggish traffic along several major commuter routes:
E11 (Al Ittihad Street): Congestion from Al Khan towards Sharjah to Al Mulla Plaza towards Dubai is causing tailbacks on both sides.
Industrial Area Roads: Congestion is reported on the internal roads between Sharjah and Dubai because of rush-hour traffic.
D92 – AlMamzar towards Abu Hail moderate traffic.
E311: Heavy traffic from Muwaileh Commercial to Qusais Cemetery.
E44 (towards Business Bay): Congestion on E44 near Dubai Design District.
Emirates Road (E611) is clear from traffic in both directions.
Google Maps also reports small accidents on other roads causing additional delays. Drivers are encouraged to drive safely and pay attention on crowded roads.
People heading to Dubai from Sharjah should leave extra time for their trip this morning.
