 In a major breakthrough, the Dubai police has nabbed an Asian man who was a high-value target for as many as 16 entities for fraud and embezzlement worth around Dh328 million.

It was a rather complicated catch as the suspect kept floating around different hideouts which made it difficult for the police to lay a trap. However, after a concerted effort, he was lured into a trap and was eventually ambushed. He has now been referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution.

Colonel Saeed Abdullah Al-Qamzi, the deputy director of Wanted Department lauded the effort of the department and gave an update on the different cases.

Four Asians have been arrested in different cases and have been handed over to the respective countries.

He further added that as many as 11 people were hauled up in the first quarter of the year. Also, in total 25 suspects have been palmed off to various countries last year.

In further updates, the colonel also said that they managed to nab a woman who was at large after being charged for human trafficking in a 10-year old case.

Major Gen Al Mansouri, assistant commander-in-chief of Dubai Police for criminal investigation said that the wanted people department has been successful in cracking 98 per cent of the total arrest warrants issued from different countries.

Praising the rapport of Dubai Police with the departments of other countries, the General also said that the department has worked closely with Interpol and have been successful in handing over the wanted folks.

Also, the department has been successful in striking negations with people who have failed to pay the debts and have left the shores. The department has managed to trace them and settle large amounts which has brought the money back to the region.
