Ajman Police Swiftly Apprehend Suspect in Murder and Arson Case
In a rapid response, Ajman Police apprehended a suspect within 10 minutes after he fatally stabbed a woman and set a store on fire, leaving three others seriously injured.
Ajman Police acted swiftly on Monday, apprehending a suspect accused of committing murder and arson within a remarkably short span of 10 minutes. The incident occurred in the emirate's industrial area, where the suspect initiated a massive fire in a commercial store after fatally stabbing an Asian woman. Additionally, three other individuals, all identified as Asians, sustained serious injuries as a result of the attack.
Lieutenant-Colonel Saeed Ali Al Madhani, Deputy Director of the Operations Department at Ajman Police, disclosed that the swift action followed a report received by the operations room concerning the alleged murder and fire outbreak. Upon receiving the alert, police teams were immediately dispatched to the scene to contain the situation.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers discovered that the assailant had used a sharp weapon to perpetrate the attack before setting the shop ablaze. Thankfully, civil defence teams swiftly intervened and managed to bring the fire under control. Subsequently, the injured victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Preliminary investigations by the police unveiled that the suspect had been involved in an illicit relationship with the victim, and previous personal disputes between them exacerbated the situation. The suspect, upon interrogation, admitted to his involvement in the crimes.
