Abu Dhabi to hire more white-collar workers, invest Dh65 billion in infrastructure

A senior Abu Dhabi official announced Wednesday that the city is concentrating its efforts on knowledge-based industries which require professional white-collar workers and plans to decrease its blue-collar workforce.
Our aim is to decrease blue-collar job numbers despite our gratitude towards them because Abu Dhabi needs technology companies like those specializing in vertical farming.

The employed workforce consists of 46 per cent white-collar workers who have expanded 109 per cent since 2011 and 54 per cent blue-collar workers who have grown 65 per cent since 2011.
