This is What Trump's son-in-law advised Saudi Prince on Khashoggi's killing

Jared Kouchner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump and his special adviser, has advised Saudi Crown Prince on how to "overcome the situation with minimal losses" after the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

"Three former officials have expressed to the New York Times their concern about Kouchner's informal talks with the crown prince because they will present Trump's smelter for manipulation," he said.

"Jared has always been keen to follow the protocols in dealing with the Saudi crown prince and other officials," the White House spokesman was quoted as saying.

"Saudi Arabia initially denied involvement in Khashoggi's death but reiterated that a team he described as a rogue traveled to Turkey and killed him there," the author said, adding that the CIA had confirmed that the Saudi crown prince had personally ordered the killing Khashoggi.

"Trump insisted that the United States should find out who was responsible for Khashoggi's murder, stressing the close ties with Saudi Arabia to rein in Iran."

"The relationship between Kouchner and Ben Salman began almost two years ago and included meetings with the top aide to the crown prince when Trump was elected president."

He pointed out that the new allegations that the Crown Prince and Kouchner remained in close contact, raised a lot of criticism and appeals that Trump should take a firm position in this regard.

Senator Marco Robo, a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said: "We cannot be a nation that turns its face to the other side when any of our allies is appalling and it is not in our national interest to defend human rights abuses."
