A group of nine guys broke into a warehouse in Al Qusais and seized 375 boxes of cigarettes worth Dh2.25 million.

They were found guilty by the Dubai Criminal Court and given a six-month prison term. The money that was stolen has been fined on each of them. After they complete their term, they will be deported.

Police investigations indicate that the director of a tobacco trading company reported a break-in at his company's warehouse.

When the victim arrived at the warehouse, he reported seeing the front entrance smashed. Then, he discovered that 375 boxes of cigarettes had been taken from the warehouse.

A CID team examined suspects and gathered conclusions from the crime scene. Afterwards, when attempting to sell cigarettes to people purchasing fruits and vegetables in Al Aweer, three of the accused were detained.

The police were notified by one of the nine prisoners that the stolen commodities were stored in an Al Aweer warehouse. After setting up an ambush, the authorities captured the remainder of the group with the boxes.
