Yellow alert issued for fog; temperatures to reach 47ºC
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a yellow alert for fog in the UAE on Tuesday, June 4. The advisory warns of reduced horizontal visibility, potentially dropping further until 8:30 AM. Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to exercise caution due to the foggy conditions and to adhere to changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.
Despite the fog, the overall weather forecast for the UAE on Tuesday is fair. However, low clouds are expected to form eastward and may become convective by the afternoon over mountainous areas, accompanied by an increase in temperature.
Temperatures in internal areas are predicted to soar up to 47ºC. Specifically, in Al Quaa, temperatures could reach 46ºC with humidity levels rising to 65%. Abu Dhabi will see temperatures up to 40ºC, while Dubai will experience slightly cooler temperatures at 36ºC.
The NCM also forecasts humid conditions by night and into Wednesday morning, with a chance of fog or mist formation over some coastal and internal regions. Light to moderate winds, occasionally freshening, will blow across the country. The sea conditions are expected to be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
Motorists are advised to stay updated with the latest weather and traffic information and to drive cautiously in affected areas.
