UAE strongly condemns attack on Slovak PM
A 'political assault' was carried out on Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on Wednesday, when he battled for his life in the hospital following multiple gunshot wounds. The attack was condemned by the UAE.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was attacked, and the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates has condemned the attack strongly.
Her Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his "deeply saddened to hear about the heinous crime" in his state speech.
A "political assault" was described by the government as the shooting of Fico, who battled for his life in the hospital on Wednesday.
Following the assault, which has drawn condemnation from all corners of the globe, surgeons fought for hours to preserve the life of the 59-year-old populist leader.
Sending his warmest wishes for Fico's quick recovery, Sheikh Abdulla extended his hand.
He reiterated the country's "categorical condemnation of such criminal and hateful acts of extremism, and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence" .
