The UAE is bracing itself for more unstable weather in the coming days, with authorities preparing for potential thunderstorms and heavy rain over the weekend. Following this week's hailstorm and generally wet conditions, task force meetings are underway to ensure response teams are fully equipped to handle any weather-related incidents, according to the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).

While today is expected to be partly cloudy, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) forecasts a transition to cloudier skies as the night progresses and into Friday morning. Convective clouds are anticipated over scattered areas, particularly in the western regions, potentially bringing rainfall. Temperatures are predicted to rise throughout the day, with winds varying from light to moderate and occasionally intensifying. This may result in blowing dust and sand, affecting horizontal visibility. Seas are expected to be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

In the early hours of Thursday morning, the Met Department reported light rainfall in some scattered areas across the country, including Abu Dhabi and Al Ain.

Looking ahead, the NCM anticipates another significant weather event late Thursday night through Sunday, reaching its peak on Saturday. This weather system is expected to cover most parts of the country, extending from the western regions to the north and east.

Due to the anticipated adverse weather conditions, UAE authorities will hold a special media briefing on March 7 at 5pm. Residents are urged to strictly observe safety protocols, particularly in areas prone to heavy rain. It is advised to refrain from sharing unverified information and rely solely on official sources of information, as emphasized by the NCEMA.
