 Sharjah, UAE - In a startling social experiment conducted by the Sharjah Child Safety Department (CSD), 97% of children readily accepted free ice cream from a stranger offering treats in exchange for entering his van. This highlights a critical gap in children's awareness of stranger danger, despite efforts to create a safe environment in the UAE.

Experiment Details

Carried out at Kshisha Park, a bustling public space in Sharjah, the experiment simulated a scenario where an ice cream vendor approached children with an enticing offer. Most children, 36 out of 37 participants, accepted the offer without hesitation, illustrating their vulnerability to potential risks.

Hanadi Al Yafei, Director of CSD, emphasized the urgent need for comprehensive safety education among children.
