Saudi new Haj rules begin today: Fines of up to Dh49,000 for permit violators
Starting from today until June 20, Saudi Arabia is enforcing strict penalties for those violating Haj regulations. Anyone performing Haj without a permit faces fines of up to 10,000 Saudi Riyal, while unauthorized transportation of pilgrims could lead to imprisonment and fines of up to 50,000 Saudi Riyal. Violators risk deportation and being barred from re-entering the kingdom. Additionally, those with visit visas are prohibited from performing Haj, with authorities urging visitors to avoid Makkah during this period. Operators in the UAE are reminded not to accept applications for Haj or Umrah without prior approval from the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments.
