Salary delayed? Top UAE bank says issues related to payments ‘nearing resolution’
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) announced late on Thursday that it is close to resolving issues related to delayed salary payments for affected customers, which arose following a recent system upgrade. The bank promptly reached out to impacted customers upon becoming aware of the disruption.
In a statement, DIB acknowledged the challenges faced by some customers due to service-related issues during the upgrade aimed at enhancing banking services. The bank assured that efforts were underway to minimize disruptions, with a dedicated team working diligently to restore affected services as quickly as possible.
"We are pleased to report that the issues concerning salary payments for affected customers are nearing resolution and are expected to be fully resolved by tonight," the statement confirmed.
The system upgrade, which was initially communicated to customers via email on June 14, was planned to run from June 14 to June 19. During this period, several services such as wages protection system registration, file processing, cash on card, balance transfers from DIB credit cards, and other related services were impacted. Subsequently, an email sent on June 20 informed customers about ongoing service interruptions, including delays in inward funds transfer, availability of account-related notifications via SMS and email, and potential delays due to increased traffic at branches and call centers.
Throughout this period, DIB reiterated its commitment to resolving these issues promptly, expressing regret for any inconvenience caused to its customers.
The bank's proactive approach in addressing the disruptions and its ongoing communication with affected customers underscore its dedication to providing improved and secure banking services.
