Ryan Reynolds teases fourth child's name, credits Taylor Swift's lyrics
Ryan Reynolds hints at the identity of his fourth child, credits A song by Taylor Swift
By waiting to announce their children's sex until they are born, Reynolds and Lively have kept their privacy intact.
Ryan Reynolds, an actor famous for his dry humor off-screen as well as on-screen, captivated viewers Monday morning on The Today Show.
Reynolds and Blake Lively's fourth child, the identity of whom is still unknown, became the center of attention.
Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb, who hosted the interview that was posted on YouTube, asked Reynolds about the mysterious name.
Taylor Swift often uses the names of Reynolds's and Lively's children in her songs, most notably in the album "Folklore" track "Betty," which Guthrie made fun of.
As Guthrie asked if Swift's most recent album, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' might disclose the name of the fourth child, Reynolds joked, "We always wait for Taylor to tell us what the child's name is, and I'll say this: We're still waiting."
Reynolds revealed in an earlier interview that the couple had decided to wait to reveal the names of their children until Swift's song "Betty" was finished.
He stressed that they used the tactic of providing "no access to outside information" as a means of managing their children's compliance.
Although information regarding their newest addition is still under wraps, Reynolds dropped hints about the birth of their fourth child during a June social media announcement for his new series, "Bedtime Stories with Ryan," last year.
Reynolds and Lively have kept a low profile as parents-to-be, opting to keep mum about their children's sex until they are born.
Fans all over the globe are still wondering what Reynolds plans to call his fourth child as he prepares for the theatrical release of his new film, 'IF,' on May 17.
The anticipation will surely build until the couple finally reveals themselves, what with Reynolds' comedic deflection and playful references to Swift's music.
