False Haj accommodation ads lead to residents' arrest
The Directorate of Public Security issued a statement urging locals to follow Haj rules and gave people the numbers to call if they saw anyone breaking the rules.

Two locals were taken into custody by the Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region Police for circulating false and misleading Hajj campaign ads. These ads contained false and misleading claims regarding the provision of lodging for pilgrims.

The Saudi Arabian government's public security agency has issued a warning to the public: do not fall for social media scams. "Performing Haj on behalf of others, securing and distributing sacrifices for the guests of God, selling Haj bracelets, and providing means of transportation" are among the services that the authority mentioned in a post on X that could involve fraudulent information.

"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Project For Utilization Of Hady & Adahi" is the official authority for selling and marketing sacrificial animals, ransom, and charity bonds for Haj pilgrims, according to a statement from the directorate.

The unified number 920020193, the Ehsan platform, or the adahi.org website are all official channels through which these services can be purchased and their execution monitored.

The directorate emphasized the importance of residents and citizens following Haj regulations and gave numbers to call if anyone violates them. Call 911 if you are in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Riyadh, or Al-Sharqiyah areas. Across the country, people can still call 999.

Citizens and visitors wishing to enter Makkah are required to have a Haj permit, as announced earlier by the directorate.

Citizens and visitors alike will be subject to a fine of 10,000 riyals (almost Dh 9,800) if caught in the following areas without a Haj permit, according to the country's Ministry of Interior:
