Red alert issued for fog, speed limit reduced due to poor visibility
Warning: fog has been declared, and visibility is so low that the speed limit has been lowered.
On Sunday morning, the weather department in the UAE warned drivers that fog had reduced visibility. Residents were notified by the Met Department of a red alert as the visibility dropped below 1,000 meters.
Due to reduced visibility during the fog, the Abu Dhabi Police have issued a cautionary message to motorists in a post on X. Attention drivers: the speed limits are subject to change and will be posted on electronic information boards.
On Sunday, the weather in the UAE can be expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with haze in the eastern and northern regions.
Humidity is predicted for Monday morning over certain coastal areas, and residents can anticipate a small rise in temperature this afternoon.
The country can anticipate light to moderate winds.
In Abu Dhabi, the temperature can reach 40ºC, while in Dubai, it can reach 39ºC.
Sea conditions in the Oman Sea and Arabian Gulf will be mild to moderate.
