Proposed Changes to Support Working Mothers' Flexibility
Maryam Majid bin Thaniah, a Federal National Council (FNC) member, has suggested allowing certain working mothers to conduct their professional responsibilities remotely, particularly those with children under 10 years old. Emphasizing the crucial need for a mother's attention and care during a child's early years, she presented her proposal to Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi.
The proposed remote work system aims to accommodate mothers who are caregivers for children with special needs and those tending to elderly parents. Additionally, bin Thaniah suggested implementing a flexible schedule where mothers could work in the office during the first half of the day and remotely from home during the second half.
With recent adjustments to working hours in federal authorities, these proposed changes seek to alleviate the challenges faced by working mothers, promoting a more supportive and flexible work environment.
