Philippines cancels 29 domestic flights due to volcano eruption
The eruption of the Kanlaon Volcano in the Philippines has disrupted air travel, leading to the cancellation of 29 domestic flights from Ninoy Aquino International Airport. Following the explosive eruption, which sent a plume of ash and steam five kilometers into the sky, aviation authorities have cautioned pilots to steer clear of the volcano's summit to avoid potential hazards. In a separate incident, Mount Ibu volcano in Indonesia also erupted, emitting thick columns of grey ash. While evacuations have not yet been reported, activities within a seven-kilometer radius of the crater have been prohibited as a precautionary measure.
