Dubai International Airport (DXB) has announced that only passengers will be permitted inside the airport during peak travel periods this summer. This move aims to manage the increased traffic expected during the busy Eid Al Adha holiday and the start of the summer vacation season.

Residents of the UAE will enjoy a four-day break from June 15-18 for Eid Al Adha, followed by the closure of schools for the summer holidays a few weeks later. During this period, DXB is preparing to welcome over 3.7 million guests between June 12 and 25, with daily traffic averaging 264,000 passengers. June 22 is anticipated to be the busiest day, with guest numbers likely to surpass 287,000.

In an advisory issued ahead of the summer rush, DXB emphasized that access to the arrivals' forecourts at Terminals 1 and 3 would be restricted to public transport and authorized airport vehicles only. The authorities have encouraged passengers to say their goodbyes at home to minimize congestion at the airport.

Flydubai passengers have been advised to arrive at least four hours before their departure time. Emirates passengers are encouraged to utilize the airline’s home-, early-, and self-check-in facilities, including city check-in options, to streamline their journey. For those flying with other airlines, DXB recommends arriving no earlier than three hours before the scheduled departure time and using online check-in when available to save time.

DXB has also issued several other travel tips to help passengers navigate the busy period smoothly:

- **Baggage Allowance:** Passengers should familiarize themselves with their airline's baggage allowance and packing regulations to avoid last-minute surprises. Checking in advance can save a lot of time and stress.

- **Security Screening:** To expedite the security screening process, passengers should place metal items such as watches, jewelry, mobile phones, coins, and belts in their hand luggage. They should also adhere to guidelines for carrying liquids, aerosols, and gels.

- **Smart Gates:** Families with children over 12 can use the Smart Gates to speed up the passport control process.

- **Travel Regulations:** Passengers should stay informed about the latest travel regulations for their destination and ensure they have all necessary documents ready. Organizing travel documents in advance and weighing luggage at home can help avoid surprises at the airport.

- **Spare Batteries:** It is recommended to pack spare batteries and power banks in hand luggage to ensure electronic devices remain charged throughout the journey.

- **Public Transport:** To avoid road congestion, passengers are encouraged to use the Dubai Metro to get to and from the airport and between Terminals 1 and 3.

These measures and tips are part of DXB’s efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for all travelers during the busy summer travel period. By following these guidelines, passengers can help reduce wait times and contribute to a more pleasant travel experience for everyone.

Overall, the restrictions and recommendations set by DXB are designed to manage the high volume of travelers efficiently and maintain safety and comfort for all airport users during the peak travel season.
