In an Abu Dhabi court ruling, a woman and her minor son were ordered to pay Dh20,000 for assaulting another child. The altercation occurred between the two children, leading to physical injuries inflicted by the woman and her son. The victim's father demanded Dh100,000 for physical, psychological, and emotional damages, resulting in the court's decision to fine the defendants Dh20,000 and allocate Dh10,000 as compensation to the victim.
According to court records from the Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Court, the incident involved two children who were reportedly friends. However, a dispute arose, escalating into an altercation where the woman and her son assaulted the child, causing physical harm.
The father of the minor victim took legal action against the mother and her son, seeking compensation amounting to Dh100,000 for the physical injuries, as well as psychological and emotional trauma endured by his child.
While the court found the woman and her son guilty of the assault, the ruling stipulated a fine of Dh20,000 to be paid by both defendants. Of this amount, Dh10,000 will be allocated as compensation to the victim for the damages suffered. Additionally, each of the defendants is required to pay a fine of Dh5,000, along with covering all associated court fees.
This case underscores the legal consequences of assault and highlights the importance of seeking justice for victims of violence. While the court's decision provides some form of accountability for the defendants' actions, it also emphasizes the need for preventive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of children in social settings.
In conclusion, the ruling reflects the judiciary's commitment to upholding justice and protecting the rights of individuals, especially minors. By holding the perpetrators accountable and providing compensation to the victim, the court sends a strong message against violence and reinforces the principle of accountability in society.
