A heartwarming story has emerged from Abu Dhabi, showcasing the quick thinking and kindness of a delivery rider. Zubair Anwar Muhammad Anwar, a 29-year-old Pakistani man, went viral after a video captured his act of bravery in rescuing a stray kitten on a busy street.

The incident unfolded on Al Falah Street as Zubair was on his way to make a delivery. At a red light, he spotted a frightened kitten darting across the road and take refuge under a parked SUV. Without hesitation, Zubair ensured his surroundings were clear and swiftly dismounted his motorbike to scoop up the vulnerable animal.

"It was a spur-of-the-moment decision," Zubair recounted in an interview with Khaleej Times. "I just felt happy I was able to save the kitten," he added, expressing surprise that the act of kindness had been filmed and gone viral.

Zubair, who has lived and worked as a delivery rider in Abu Dhabi for the past five years, resides in the Tourist Club Area. He emphasized his love for animals despite not owning any pets himself. He also highlighted his commitment to responsible riding, stating, "I have never had any road traffic violation."

This act of heroism isn't an isolated incident for UAE delivery riders. Earlier this year, three delivery riders were lauded for calming and securing a frightened horse running loose on the streets of Dubai. In another instance from July 2022, several delivery riders banded together to rescue a kitten trapped within a parked car's engine compartment, an event also documented and widely shared online.

Zubair's selfless act serves as a reminder of the compassion and care that can exist in everyday situations. His quick response not only ensured the safety of a helpless creature but also warmed the hearts of many touched by the viral video. This story highlights the positive role delivery riders can play in their communities, extending their helpfulness beyond the realm of deliveries.
