Manisha Koirala accepts not becoming a mother
Motherhood will not be in Manisha Koirala's future.
Recognizing her struggle with cancer and subsequent recovery, the Indian actor also conveyed her appreciation for her journey.
In an interview with NDTV, Manisha Koirala—who recently portrayed a mother in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar" on Netflix India—said that she has accepted the fact that she will not be a mother in real life, particularly in light of her struggle with ovarian cancer, as reported by Hindustan Times.
According to Manisha, "As you grow older, you accept your reality" when she reflects on her trek. Realizing that many of your dreams will never come true is something you learn to accept. One of them is motherhood. It was difficult to have ovarian cancer and then be unable to have a family, she continued. I accepted it, though.
Manisha stated, "I realized I get stressed out very quickly, I get anxiety very quickly" when asked about the prospect of adoption. Because of all the back and forth, I finally accepted that. Being a godmother is more my speed. The importance of spending quality time with her elderly parents in Nepal was highlighted by her statement, "I'm the apple of their eye, I'm the centre of their universe, and I'm going to cherish that."
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Manisha acknowledged her struggle with cancer and subsequent recovery while expressing gratitude for her journey. "I have a lot to be grateful for in life... and it is with God's grace that I have been given a second life after battling cancer," she wrote on Instagram. Stage IV ovarian cancer was Manisha's diagnosis in 2012, but by 2014, she had made a full recovery.
