Iran embassy to accept condolences over death of President Raisi
The Iranian embassy in Abu Dhabi has opened its doors to mourners wishing to pay their respects following the tragic death of President Ebrahim Raisi. In light of the recent helicopter crash near the Azerbaijan border, which claimed the lives of Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, and six others, the embassy has set up a condolence book for community members to express their sympathies.
From May 22 to 23, between 10am and 2pm, mourners can visit the embassy premises located at Villa no. 115, Arzam St in the Embassies Area of Abu Dhabi to offer their condolences in person.
The tragic accident occurred when a helicopter carrying President Raisi and his entourage crashed in the mountains near the Azerbaijan border. Despite extensive search efforts in challenging weather conditions, the wreckage was discovered with no survivors, as reported by Iranian state media.
President Raisi's untimely death has left a significant void in Iran's political landscape, with many viewing him as a potential successor to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Similarly, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum extended his prayers for the victims and their families during this difficult time.
