Gargash Insurance Introduces Pravasi Protection Plan (PPP) for Indian Workers in the UAE

 Gargash Insurance Services, in collaboration with the Indian Consulate and Orient Insurance, has launched the Pravasi Protection Plan (PPP), addressing a crucial gap in coverage for the Indian workforce in the UAE. This innovative insurance plan offers group life cover, extending beyond workplace accidents to provide financial security for families in the event of natural deaths and accidental disabilities.

Managing Director of Gargash Insurance Services, Mustafa O. Vazayil, highlights the significance of the PPP in enhancing the welfare of the Indian workforce in the UAE. With a large percentage of blue-collar workers lacking life insurance, the PPP aims to provide affordable coverage for employees across various sectors, ensuring their families are protected in times of need.

The PPP caters to a wide range of employers, including corporates, start-ups, and SMEs, with a minimum requirement of five Indian employees or ten employees of other nationalities aged between 18 and 70 years. The annual premiums start from Dh37, offering comprehensive benefits such as worldwide coverage, permanent disability coverage, repatriation expenses, and compensation ranging from Dh35,000 to Dh75,000.

Deputy Managing Director of Gargash Insurance Services, M. Rajendran, emphasizes the inclusive nature of the PPP, stating that companies with multinational workforces can also opt for the plan, provided Indians are part of the employee pool. Since its launch on March 1st, 2024, the PPP has garnered significant interest from UAE-based companies, covering nearly 20,000 lives.

Rajendran highlights the cost-effectiveness of the PPP for both workers' families and employers, stressing the company's commitment to expanding the reach of the policy. Gargash Insurance Services plans to collaborate with socio-cultural organizations and expand into other GCC markets in the coming months, ensuring more workers benefit from this protective measure.
