Game-Changer: Dubai's Five-Year Tourist Visa for Indian Travelers
The recent announcement of a new five-year multiple-entry tourist visa for Indian travelers has sparked interest and excitement. Initially introduced two years ago, this visa offers tourists from all nationalities the opportunity to explore Dubai's attractions with ease.
Dubai authorities confirmed the availability of this visa, emphasizing its significance in attracting tourists from India, one of the UAE's key markets. The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) highlighted this visa during a travel expo in Mumbai, showcasing its appeal to frequent travelers and those seeking last-minute travel opportunities.
This visa, which can be obtained within two to five working days, allows travelers to stay in the UAE for up to 90 days, with the option to extend their stay once for a similar period, not exceeding 180 days in total within a year.
The introduction of this visa has led to a significant increase in inquiries from Indian tourists, according to Bader Ali Habib, the regional head of proximity markets at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. He described the visa as a "game-changer," eliminating barriers to travel and becoming the preferred choice for frequent travelers.
Ali Habib emphasized the versatility of the visa, highlighting its ability to facilitate family visits, meetings with friends, and participation in business or leisure events. He sees this initiative as a strategic step towards strengthening ties between the UAE and India, offering Indian tourists a longer and more enriching experience while fostering economic collaboration between the two nations.
