'The Great Indian Kapil Show' is where Ed Sheeran lets his desi version shine.
During the promotional video, the 'Perfect' singer could be heard speaking Hindi.

Ed Sheeran brought a global flair to the next episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show.

Unexpectedly, the Perfect hitmaker could be seen speaking Hindi in the episode promo that Netflix released on Wednesday. Ed Sheeran sings a desi rendition of Shape of You in the video. In the teaser, the singer recited Shah Rukh Khan's famous lines from the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and struck a pose reminiscent of the actor's signature move.

While Ed sang a desi song featuring food items like 'paneer pakoda,' 'barfi,' and 'cake,' Sunil Grover, Kiku Sharda, Krushna Abhishek, and Archana Puran Singh were also seen having a blast on the show.

Kapil, amidst all the chitchat, wanted to know what the meaning of Ed's album names were. His tour name is Mathematics, so he could relate. The names include plus, subtract, divide, multiply, and equals.

"I released some independent records when I was 17 or 18 years of age," Ed revealed in response. Plus was an addition to the five that I released. The original intention of multiply was to scale everything up and make it global. The split resulted in two columns. Everything was stripped away by subtracting. The whole was proportional to the parts. Putting out five albums was a goal of mine when I was eighteen years old.

The episode was filmed in Mumbai while Ed Sheeran was on tour. He wowed audiences in April at Mumbai's Mahalaxmi Racecourse with performances of his top-charting singles. Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh joined him onstage, adding to the electric energy of the performance.

Diljit coerced him into singing the Punjabi version of the hit song "Lover" with him. The performance was a stop on the singer's tour of Europe and Asia.

Many famous people, including Shah Rukh Khan, Gauri Khan, Farah Khan, and Ayushmann Khurrana, were present during his visit to India.
