The tremor originated from the Bishnupur area in Bankura district, occurring at a depth of 25 kilometers. The seismic event occurred precisely at 7:09 pm local time, according to the NCS.

This earthquake follows a recent seismic activity earlier this month, when a magnitude 3.4 tremor struck Manipur's Kamjong area at a depth of 40 kilometers. The NCS continues to monitor seismic activity in the region, providing updates on earthquake occurrences and their parameters.
