Dubai International Airport (DXB) has revised its 2024 passenger target to 91 million, aiming to break its current traffic record. With robust growth in the aviation sector, DXB anticipates surpassing its previous annual traffic record of 89.1 million set in 2018. CEO Paul Griffiths attributes this growth to the expansion of routes by home base carriers Emirates and flydubai, emphasizing Dubai's emergence as a global leader in attracting talent, businesses, and tourists. The first quarter of 2024 witnessed significant growth, with 23 million passengers passing through DXB's terminals, marking an 8.4% increase compared to the same period last year. This surge underscores DXB's appeal to major markets and its contribution to Dubai's prominence as an international destination for tourism and trade. DXB's efficient operations not only support the city's economic growth but also strengthen its position as a global business and logistics hub. India remains the top destination country for DXB, followed by Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Pakistan. Key figures for the first quarter include 109,238 total flight movements and 26.8 million bags managed through its baggage system, reflecting DXB's operational excellence and commitment to seamless travel experiences.
