Dubai Police have taken action against motorists involved in reckless and stunt driving in the Al Khawaneej area, seizing 121 vehicles and recording around 500 traffic violations. The violators, including 81 cars and 40 motorcycles, were engaged in dangerous driving practices, such as stunt driving and driving against the flow of traffic. Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, emphasized the seriousness of these violations, stating that vehicles impounded for reckless driving endangering lives, property, and public safety will only be released after paying a Dh50,000 fine, as per the new Dubai traffic law implemented in July. The penalties and duration of confiscation are subject to the federal traffic law. The police have urged parents to play an active role in curbing irresponsible driving behaviors among young individuals, emphasizing the need for vigilance and engagement in preventing actions that could lead to severe consequences. Residents are encouraged to report road safety violations through the 'Police Eye' service in the Dubai Police app or by contacting the 'We Are All Police' service at 901.
