Dubai launches new Nol card with discounts worth over Dh17,000

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new Nol card, the Nol Travel Card, designed to offer significant discounts and facilitate seamless payments for public transportation, parking, and various experiences across the city. Launched on June 10, 2024, this card targets tourists, residents, and citizens, promising savings of up to Dh17,000 on a range of products and services.

Initially priced at Dh200 for a year, with an initial balance of Dh19, the Nol Travel Card can be renewed annually for Dh150. Available at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and select partner stores like Zoom and Europcar, the card provides discounts of five to ten percent at hotels, shops, adventure venues, and entertainment facilities. 

Mohammed Al Mudharreb, CEO of the Corporate Technology Support Services Sector at RTA, emphasized the card's goal to integrate public transportation and city facilities into one payment method. "This card is aimed at fulfilling the needs of customers, integrating public transportation and the city’s facilities through one card, making it a single payment method with discounts exceeding 100 percent and a value of over Dh17,000," he stated.

Existing Nol card users, however, cannot switch to the new Nol Travel Card yet. Al Mudharreb assured that the RTA is considering this option for the future. The Nol Travel Card has its own packages, offering various benefits and discounts. Salahaldeen Almarzouqi, director of the Automated Collection Systems Department, mentioned the potential addition of a digital version of the card via a barcode, enhancing its convenience.

Amr Abdelsamad, managing director of MDX Solutions, highlighted the card's extensive acceptance network. "There are currently over 100 partners and facilities such as restaurants and entertainment facilities where this card is accepted, and these numbers will increase in due course," he said.

The new Nol Travel Card not only enhances the convenience of navigating Dubai but also offers substantial savings, making it an attractive option for both residents and visitors. As the RTA continues to expand the card's benefits and acceptance network, the Nol Travel Card is set to become an essential tool for maximizing the Dubai experience.
