Residents of Dubai's Serena Community have been enduring months of noise from late-night roadworks. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) responded after an expat's complaint on social media, assuring that inspectors have visited the site, and the contractor has been instructed to avoid late-hour works. The construction, aimed at building a roundabout to ease traffic, has been ongoing since February between the Serena and Al Waha communities in Dubailand. The villa owner, Abbie Watson (name changed upon request), expressed relief at the RTA's response, hoping for an end to the community's woes. She had previously called the police when machines were operating from 11pm to 4am, disrupting residents' sleep and causing distress, especially for families with young children. Despite an earlier complaint in April, the noise issue persisted until RTA's recent intervention. Watson shared videos on social media documenting the late-night construction, prompting RTA to take action. The authority assured that the project is expected to be completed within a week, offering hope for the residents of Serena Community.
