Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a series of changes to public transportation and parking regulations in celebration of Eid Al Adha 2024. These adjustments aim to facilitate ease of movement and convenience for residents and visitors during the holiday period.

From Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18, Dubai motorists will benefit from four days of free public parking. However, this exemption does not apply to multi-level parking terminals, where regular tariffs will remain in effect. The usual parking fees will resume on Wednesday, June 19.

In addition to free parking, the RTA has revised operating hours for the Dubai Metro and Tram to accommodate the increased travel demands during the holiday. The Red and Green Lines of the Dubai Metro will operate as follows:
- Saturday, June 15: 5 AM to 1 AM (next day)
- Sunday, June 16: 8 AM to 1 AM (next day)
- Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18: 8 AM to 12 midnight

The Dubai Tram will have the following schedule:
- Saturday, June 15: 6 AM to 1 AM (next day)
- Sunday, June 16: 9 AM to 1 AM (next day)
- Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18: 8 AM to 12 midnight

RTA Customer Happiness Centres will be closed throughout the Eid holidays, with the exception of kiosks and smart customer centres located in Umm Ramool, Deira, Barsha, and Al Kifaf. The RTA head office will remain operational around the clock to ensure continuous service.

Public and intercity bus services will also experience changes in their operating hours during Eid Al Adha. Commuters are encouraged to check the latest schedules using the S’hail app for accurate information. Similarly, operating hours for marine transport services, including water taxis, Dubai Ferry, and abras, can be accessed through the RTA app.

The Dubai government has declared that both the public and private sectors will observe the Eid Al Adha holidays from Saturday, June 15, to Tuesday, June 18. Official work will resume on Wednesday, June 19. This announcement is part of the government's efforts to ensure a smooth and enjoyable holiday period for all residents and visitors.

This year's adjustments reflect Dubai's commitment to enhancing public services during significant cultural celebrations. The free parking initiative is expected to reduce congestion and provide convenience for those visiting family, friends, and various Eid festivities across the city.

The extended operating hours for the Dubai Metro and Tram are designed to accommodate the higher volume of passengers, ensuring that everyone can travel comfortably and efficiently. These changes also highlight the importance of public transport in Dubai's overall infrastructure, offering a reliable alternative to driving.

The closure of most RTA Customer Happiness Centres is mitigated by the continuous operation of smart centres and kiosks, ensuring that essential services remain available to the public. The emphasis on using apps like S’hail and the RTA app underscores the importance of digital tools in providing real-time information and enhancing user experience.

Overall, these measures by the RTA and the Dubai government aim to create a seamless and enjoyable Eid Al Adha experience, supporting both the convenience and the celebratory spirit of the holiday. By providing free parking, extended metro and tram services, and accessible customer service options, Dubai continues to prioritize the needs and comfort of its residents and visitors.
