Dubai Police Remind Parents: Secure Your Kids in Car Seats for Road Safety

As part of New Year road safety initiatives, Dubai Police emphasize the importance of child car seats, urging parents to ensure their children are safely seated. The reminder comes after a survey revealed that one in three parents in the UAE lacks proper car seats for their children. Authorities emphasize the responsibility parents have in establishing proper safety habits from birth, ensuring newborns are discharged from the hospital in appropriate child seats, as mandated by the Seat Belt Law since 2017. The survey results indicated a lack of knowledge, kids' resistance to being strapped in, and perceived high prices as reasons for not owning child car seats. Mandatory seat belt regulations apply to all passengers, with violators facing fines and black points. RoadSafetyUAE founder Thomas Edelmann calls for increased parental education and enforcement around schools and kindergartens to enhance child car safety.
