In a touching display of redemption and faith, a convicted murderer in a Dubai prison has found solace and purpose in helping fellow inmates memorize the Quran. Despite serving a life sentence for his involvement in a 2008 murder case, this former clothing designer from Egypt has dedicated himself to guiding others towards rehabilitation and a fresh start.

Starting his day at 4:30 am with prayers, the inmate, now 47 years old and wheelchair-bound due to a hernia operation, embarks on a journey of self-discovery and service. Through his own experience of memorizing the Quran within a year and a half of his sentence, he found a path to redemption. He now spends his days teaching others, offering them a chance to reduce their sentences and eventually be released.

Despite the challenges of prison life, including strict security measures and a regimented daily routine, he remains steadfast in his commitment to helping others. His background in art education proves invaluable as he employs innovative teaching methods, turning students into teachers themselves.

Beyond Quran memorization, he engages in continuous learning, participating in various training courses covering topics from computer skills to organic farming. Reading has become a cornerstone of his rehabilitation, broadening his worldview and nurturing a thirst for knowledge.

Despite refusing prison visits since his incarceration, he maintains contact with his family through phone calls, holding onto the lifeline of connection to the outside world. Reflecting on his transformation, he speaks of a profound shift from anger to calm, guided by the principles of the Quran and the compassionate treatment of prison staff.

As he awaits a decision on his request for early release, he dreams of a future where he can rebuild his life, aspiring to become a good father and impart the lessons he's learned to his children.

In a world often marked by judgment and condemnation, this story serves as a poignant reminder of the power of redemption, faith, and the human capacity for change. It underscores the importance of second chances and the potential for renewal, even in the most unlikely of circumstances.
