Coffee, buns made by people of determination a big hit at major event
Baristas Hazaa and Salem had a bustling day at their Bee Café kiosk during a major event, marking a milestone for the first café in the UAE operated by people of determination. In another section of the event, chefs Zayed, Fares, and Al Hammadi were busy crafting and serving delicious cream buns, delighting attendees.
The Bee Café, launched in 2019 and affiliated with the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), has seen significant growth. This dedicated workforce of baristas and chefs now confidently participates in high-profile events such as the Make in the Emirates Forum and the World Government Summit.
During the forum, the team received an enthusiastic response from several CEOs, entrepreneurs, decision-makers, and top officials. Hazaa, sharing his experience with Khaleej Times, expressed his happiness about meeting industry leaders. "It has been an amazing experience," he said with a smile.
Supported by the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) – the export-financing arm of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) – the Bee Café's participation in the forum was part of a broader initiative to showcase the talents of people of determination. Salem, overwhelmed by the positive feedback, thanked ADEX for the opportunity and hoped for more chances to display their skills.
Khalifa Abdulla Al Qubaisi, Deputy Director General at ADFD, highlighted the importance of such initiatives. "At ADEX, we take pride in supporting The Bee Café and Bakery, which is an inspiring initiative by the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination. Managed entirely by people of determination, this initiative aligns with our national vision of empowering every segment of society."
Al Qubaisi emphasized the significance of showcasing the skills of people of determination at various events, underscoring their valuable contributions to the UAE's sustainable development. "The Abu Dhabi Exports Office reaffirms its commitment to supporting these initiatives, as we firmly believe that inclusive growth is essential for building a resilient and prosperous economy for our nation," he added.
The two-day forum, organized under the theme 'Invest, Innovate, Grow' by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development and ADNOC Group, concluded on Tuesday. The presence and success of the Bee Café at such a significant event underscored the potential and talent of people of determination, highlighting their role in contributing to the nation's progress.
