In a testament to the growing significance of coding skills in today's digital landscape, 42 Abu Dhabi, a tuition-free coding school, has witnessed a remarkable surge in demand. Established in 2020 as an initiative by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and Abu Dhabi’s Ghadan 21 accelerator program, 42 Abu Dhabi aims to prepare a future-ready workforce equipped with essential coding skills.

Since its inception, the coding school has experienced substantial growth, enrolling a total of 758 students, including 213 Emirati students. Notably, there has been a significant increase of over 25% in the number of students enrolled in 2023 compared to the previous year, reflecting the growing interest and recognition of the importance of coding education.

The innovative approach of 42 Abu Dhabi, which offers a unique peer-to-peer and gamified learning methodology, has contributed to its popularity among students. To meet the rising demand, the school is preparing to host its second boot camp for the May intake. The boot camp, known as 'Piscine,' is an intense 25-day program designed to assess candidates' computer programming skills, determination, and dedication.

Marcos Muller Habig, acting CEO of 42 Abu Dhabi, emphasized the significance of this milestone, stating that hosting the second Piscine reflects the school's commitment to addressing the evolving needs of the digital industry. He highlighted the school's dedication to empowering individuals with the necessary skills to thrive in the tech sector.

While prior coding experience is not required, candidates applying for 42 Abu Dhabi's program must demonstrate adaptability and collaboration skills. The application process includes completing a pre-selection 'Game' and attending an in-person discovery session. Successful candidates will then proceed to the Piscine, followed by enrollment in the coding program.

42 Abu Dhabi's strategic partnerships with leading organizations, including Mubadala Investment Company and Microsoft, provide students with valuable internship and job opportunities. Emirati talents are particularly supported through sponsorship opportunities and stipends, further enhancing their prospects in the tech industry.

Upon completion of the program, students receive a diploma in software development recognized by the National Qualification Center (NQC) in the UAE. This accreditation underscores the school's commitment to delivering high-quality coding education and preparing students for successful careers in software development.

In conclusion, the surge in demand for coding education at 42 Abu Dhabi reflects the growing recognition of coding skills as essential for navigating the digital future. By offering tuition-free education and innovative learning methodologies, the school is playing a vital role in shaping the next generation of digital leaders in Abu Dhabi and beyond.
