In Sharjah, even the most exotic gardens seem ordinary compared to the stunning oasis created by Emirati royal Sheikh Ali Al Mualla. This sanctuary boasts a fully functional zipline, adventure zones, serene ponds, cascading waterfalls, and lush greenery. It’s no wonder the garden was recently declared the Most Beautiful Home Garden in Sharjah by the Sharjah Municipality, an accolade it has now received twice.

"I see in the garden my greatest masterpiece," says Sheikh Ali Al Mualla, an artist from the royal family in Umm Al Quwain. Contrary to common perception, creating this garden wasn't expensive. Al Mualla explains, "Many think I have invested heavily in my garden, but everything here is made from discarded or unwanted trees from various sources, reclaimed building materials, and tools I reshaped and manufactured myself."

Al Mualla’s passion for art and craftsmanship is evident in every corner of his garden. When he had the opportunity to build his own house, he focused intensely on the garden, infusing it with his heart and soul. From sculpting to installation, every element reflects his artistic vision, all crafted by his own hands.

Around the garden, there are about a dozen seats, most of which were crafted from recycled tree trunks, remnants of trees, and construction waste. Each seat has its own distinctive character. One notable feature is a raised cabin with a panoramic view, built to accommodate around 20 people. The right side of the cabin leans against a boulder weighing more than 14 tonnes, while the left side rests on a large tree trunk. Visitors can sit comfortably, sipping coffee and catching up in this unique setting.

Another extraordinary feature is a 30-foot-long table made from a single tree trunk, without any joints. It is perhaps the longest of its kind in the UAE and can accommodate many people seated along its sides. This table, like much of the garden, showcases Al Mualla's commitment to sustainability and creative reuse of materials.

The garden serves as a gateway to another world, where reality blends seamlessly with the enchantment of nature. "My garden is like a multicultural village using reclaimed wood. The concept of my entire garden is sustainability," Al Mualla explains. His creativity knows no bounds. Where others see waste, he sees potential. "Whenever I encounter discarded trees or construction remnants, I seize the opportunity to breathe new life into them."
