4 health centres to stop medical fitness test services
Starting June 3, some UAE public health centres will no longer offer medical fitness tests required for residence visa applications, according to an announcement from the Emirates Health Services (EHS). This change affects four specific centres: Ajman Public Health Centre, Ras Al Khaimah Public Health Centre, Umm Al Quwain Public Health Centre, and Fujairah Public Health Centre.
Despite these closures, applicants can still obtain the necessary medical fitness tests at alternative EHS centres within each emirate. In Ajman, services will be available at Mushairef Residence Medical Examination Centre and Al Nuaimiya Residence Medical Examination Centre. For those in Ras Al Khaimah, the Dahan Residence Medical Examination Centre and RAKZ Residence Medical Examination Centre will provide the required tests. In Umm Al Quwain, applicants can visit the Al Madar Residence Medical Examination Centre. Meanwhile, in Fujairah, the Al Amal Residence Medical Examination Centre and Mina Tower Residence Medical Examination Centre will continue to offer these services.
Under UAE regulations, all expatriates applying for residence visas must undergo a medical fitness test. This test ensures that applicants do not have any communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, HIV, or hepatitis. A report confirming the applicant's fitness is crucial for the approval of the residence visa.
The EHS has assured residents that while the aforementioned centres will cease operations, the alternative centres are well-equipped to handle the demand. This reallocation of services is aimed at optimizing healthcare resources and ensuring a smooth and efficient process for all visa applicants.
Applicants are advised to plan their visits accordingly and utilize the available centres to avoid any delays in their visa application process. For more information on the medical fitness test procedure, including the required documentation and fees, residents can visit the EHS website or contact their local health centre.
This change underscores the UAE's commitment to maintaining high standards of public health while streamlining essential services for its diverse expatriate population. The move is expected to enhance the efficiency of medical fitness testing and ensure that all applicants receive timely and accurate health assessments as part of their visa application process.
